As the climate crisis exacerbates, its invisibility is a key point of interrogation when navigating ecological disaster. The introduction of development and connectivity especially in the face of large scale energy projects such as dams, hydropower, and mining, produce various tangible and intangible ecological impacts. These include resource depletion in the name of development: loss of livelihoods, loss of pathways, loss of ways of being, and even a loss of time.
Our research aims at exploring the colonial-ecological dynamic in development that upkeeps the environment and quality of life of the Global North at the expense of the time, land, and environment of the Global South. The trade of life through the force of ecological violence is a process that needs to be made ubiquitous in order to access a future of climate justice.
