The Collective is a gathering of communities in struggle, with a focus on practices and methods of world-making in response to the ecological devastation accompanying capital and its extractive processes. Emerging from decades of engagement on a wide array of concerns that have included fisher communities against the historical enclosure of waters, communities in struggle opposing large scale water infrastructure, and those in contest over commoning practices. Each has involved creative law-doing, whilst occasionally invoking formal legal petitions and other practice of legibility, the Collective has focused on (re)-creating alternative discourses and practices such as those of the Lok Sath. Members include lawyers, academics, artists, from across Pakistan.
